2012-2013 Dodgeball Series Crowns Spring Champs
The team Bring Back Twinkies, made up of Anthony Foster, Ashley Cajina, Maleah Lopez and Emilee Short were pushed to the limit by Never Stop Ballieving, which consisted of Aarte Abesamis, Stephanie Cajina, Maegan Reyna and Sarahi Vargas, but prevailed in over time to win the Spring Championship. Team Matoki led by the legendary Coach Trave, Jamie Carino, Paige Hardegen and Arianna Perez took 3rd place in the 20 team finale.
14 Straight
The Springstowne Wildcats won their 14th consecutive Vallejo City Wrestling Crown over City rivals Franklin, Solano and MIT. A quartet of Lady Wildcats became 3-Time City Champions. Thao Truong, Flordelee Madamba, My Linh Pham and Shelly Avelino entered City Championship lore by pulling off the feat. Valerie Franco and Jasmine Capiral both became two-time City Champions, while the other gold medal winners for the Academy were Michael Phannavong, D'Niko Green, Enrique Mata, Anthony Foster, Nathan Huerta, Jared Perez, Malik Maxwell, Eric Geli, Diego Barba, Jeazelle Umipig, Christina Sanchez, Flordelee Madamba, Briana Dulay, Ruth Bacnotan, Maegan Reyna, Nicole Bonifacio, Erlen Sunga, Stephanie Cajina, Topaz Lewis, Jamie Carino, Hazel Solar, Joanne Cabanlit, Nicole Ausa, Kera Arzadon, Rachel Rio, Daphne Rio, Kaelin Pasibe, Jennifer Jovel Alvarez and Elisabeth Franco.
Wildcats Go 3 and 0 At City Duals
Our Springstowne Wrestling Academy won all three contests at the 18th Annual Vallejo City Duals with wins over Solano 88-0, MIT 78-3 and Franklin 75-6.
The top winners for the Wildcats were Mark Jimenez-Diolanto who went 3-0 and Adrian Medina and Jared Perez who both went 2 and 0 with 2 Pins. Lady Wildcats Jasmine Capiral and Nicole Ausa also slid in to the lineup to score one win each.

City Dual Lineups Secured
On April 30, 2013, the following Wildcats won gold at the School Championships and will be our front line wrestlers at the 18th Annual Vallejo City Duals on May 7th. Springtowne Lady Wildcats Win 8th State Title

Shelly Avelino, led the way winning her third straight State Championship and made history by becoming the 1st competitor in the event's history to score 3 pins in 3 finals appearances. The Lady Wildcats also received hard fought medal winning efforts from Silver medalist Genesis Borja, 4th place medalists Jeazelle Umipig, Flordelee Madamba and Valerie Franco, 5th place medalists Christina Sanchez, Topaz Lewis, Supranee Noynil and Rachel RIo, 6th place medalists Briana Dulay, Jamie Carino, Hazel Solar, Nicole Ausa and Carmille Lobusta.
The Lady Wildcats scored 35 team points to outlast their longtime friendly rival Bancroft Lady Broncos of San Leandro who scored 27 points. Dan Savage Middle School from Modesto rounded out the top 3 with 23 team points.

Wildcats Wrestle To Benefit Schoolchildren In Viet Nam
The 4th Annual Hoang Van Thu Classic saw the following Wildcats place 1st in their weight class. Mark Diolanto-Jimenez, Michael Phannavong, Jonah Arnold, Romiland Lobusta, Jeazelle Umipig, Hazel Solar, Kaelin Pasibe, Thao Truong, Jasmine Capiral, Joanne Cabanlit, Nicole Ausa, Flordelee Madamba, Briana Dulay, Justine Pascua, Ruth Bacnotan, Nicole Bonifacio, Erlen Sunga, Bianca Holman, Kera Arzadon, Topaz Lewis, Sara Nimir, Shelly Avelino, Rachel Rio, Jamie Carino and Genesis Borja.

Lady Wildcats Pack The House At USGWA Nor-Cals
Seventy Springstowne Lady Wildcats won medals at the 14th Annual USGWA Nor-Cals in front of USGWA President Kent Bailo and ESPN reporter Michelle Smith-McDonald. The gold medal winners on the day were Jeazelle Umipig, Flordelee Madamba, Justine Pascua, Nicole Bonifacio, Erlen Sunga, Kera Arzadon, Topaz Lewis, Caesha Gemo, Jamie Carino and Shelly Avelino, who became a 3-Time USGWA Nor-Cal Champion.
Winter Dodgeball Tourney Complete
Team Jhon led by Joanne Cabanlit, Kobe Auzenne, Adam Gutierrez and Mark-Jimenez Diolanto outlasted The Wildcats On Fire, made up of Nicole Bonifacio, Lily Parungao, Leika Lopez and Leslie Uribe, in double overtime to win the Winter Event. I Don't Know rounded our the top three led by Mylei Moli, Emilee Short, Maleah Lopez and Ashley Cajina.
Wrestlers Feel The Past And See The Future
Our Annual Novice Scrimmage Match Night was kicked off with the unveiling of the refurbished Wildcat Wood Sculpture that used to adorn the main office at Springstowne Middle School. The Wildcat was donated by longtime Springstowne and Hogan employee Rhonda Mikel and was refinished by her husband John Mikel. Mrs. Mikel kicked off the evening events by stating ...

The Wildcat wrestlers wrestled inspired as our 6th and 7th grade wrestlers took to the mat, while the 8th graders served as scorers and referees. We scored 37 wins in 60 matches vs Napa Sal and the Bancroft Lady Broncos.

Wildcats Wrestle Well Up North
The North Coast Championships saw a pair of Wildcats have milestone days as Romiland Lobusta qualified for the TOC with a silver medal finish and Lady Wildcat Shelly Avelino became the 1st from our program to become a 3-time North Coast Champion. Other gold medal efforts were brought in by Flordelee Madamba, Briana Dulay, Erlen Sunga, Topaz Lewis, Stephanie Cajina and Caitlyn Poblete.
Springstowne Partners With Vallejo PAL For K-5 Kids
The HMS-Springstowne Wildcat Wrestling Academy mentored K-5 students for the Vallejo PAL. The Wrestling For Fun Program was a month long program designed promote wrestling in the city of Vallejo to the elementary school age groups.
The program culminated on February 21st with a tournament vs the Napa SAL. The program participants were Ashton Balassu, CJ Carino, DJ Avelino, Daniel Solar, Daisy Huerta and Makayla Guieb-Lastrella
Solano County's Finest
The Lady Wildcats won their 5th Annual Solano County Championship winning 18 of 25 weight classes. Gold Medal winners were Flordelee Madamba, Valerie Franco, Briana Dulay, Nicole Bonifacio, Erlen Sunga, Ruth Bacnotan, Stephanie Cajina, Supranee Noynil, Hazel Solar, Ariana Danao, Jasmine Capiral, Nicole Ausa, Joanne Cabanlit, Kera Arzadon, Rachel Rio, Lily Parungao and Caesha Gemo.

Wildcats Gain Experience In Dual Match
The Wildcats traveled to Vacaville to meet Jespon Middle School, one of California's top teams, and walked away wiser after an 87-15 loss in dual action. Eric Geli picked up a pin and Romiland Lobusta scored a 2-1 victory as the lone contested winners. Mark Jimenez-Diolanto scored a forfeit victory. In girls exhibition action the Lady Wildcats went 3 and 0 as Topaz Lewis and Jamie Carino recorded pins and Shelly Avelino won a 7-1 decision.

The Springstowne Wildcat Wrestling Academy won its 13th Winter League Championship though Vaca Pena(2nd), Napa SAL(3rd), Wan Tu Wazuri(4th) and Salida(5th) provided the Wildcats with a sturdy challenge. Gold medal winners Jeazelle Umipig, Hazel Solar, Thao Truong, Jasmine Capiral, Nicole Ausa, Elisabeth Franco, Justine Pascua, Valerie Franco, Kera Arzadon, Nicole Bonifacio, Ruth Bacnotan, Caesha Gemo, Topaz Lewis, Shelly Avelino, Daphne Rio, Jamie Carino, Adam Gutierrez, Eric Geli, D'Niko Green and Romiland Lobusta paved the way for the victory.
Wildcat Alum Competing At University Level
Magi Frazier, a 3-year Wildcat Wrestler from 2004-2006, wrestles for San Francisco State University. Magi, who was Vallejo City Championship caliber wrestler for Springstowne and medaled at the AAU-Four Corner Championships in Colorado, went on to become a California state Qualifeir for the St. Patrick's Bruins.
Magi wrestles at 174 lbs for the Gators and was also named to the Athletic Department's Honor Roll. He majors in Biology and with hopes to become a pharmacologist.

5th Annual Fall Classic Champions
Our Wildcat wrestlers scored 204 points to win their 5th consecutive Bobby Gonzalez Vallejo PAL Fall Classic title, while Benicia(124 points) and the Vallejo PAL(85 points) placed 2nd and 3rd respectively.

8th Annual Wildcat Wrestling Clinic Champions Named
The 8th Annual Wildcat Wrestling clinic saw 46 middle school and 10 elementary wrestlers hit the mat. Seven Springstowne Alumni wrestlers dating back to the class of 2001 educated the clinic participants on wrestling technique, as well as Springstowne Wildcat Wrestling tradition.
The event culminated with a Mini-Takedown Tournament. Wildcat wrestlers Romiland Lobusta, Shelly Avelino, Flordelee Madamba, Jasmine Capiral, Anya San Nicolas, Adam Gutierrez and Kobe Auzenne won gold medals in their respective weight-groups.

Fall Dodgeball Results Are In
"GGG" composed of Romiland Lobusta, Jamie Carino, Paige Hardegen and Kaleo Santos took the overall title, knocking off "Viet-G" led by Mylinh Pham, Thao Truong, Tommy Vo and Mr. Guiducci in the finals. "Suga' You Goin' Down" placed 3rd as Topaz Lewis, Suveen Pooni, Christina Sanchez and Stephanie Cajina defeated Coach Trave, Valerie Franco, Briana Dulay and Jeazelle Umipig in the consolation finals. Great job to all of the 21 teams who made the event fun!!!
Wildcat Wrestlers Compete In Goodwill Event
The Springstowne Wildcat Wrestling Academy was honored to host the 2nd Annual Philippines Wrestling Showcase for the Wrestling Association of the Philippines. Thirty-eight Wildcats took to the mat for the opener of the event prior to the high school and open divisions. WAP President Albert Balde was appreciative of our efforts and impressed by the talent as he stated that the WAP, "... surely will find talent in Vallejo for the 2016 Olympic games in Brazil."

7th Annual Festival of Nations Potluck
Scores of Wildcat Wrestling families made our annual kickoff night a success. Thank you for your support!!! Our 8th Grade Wildcats also discovered which states they are slated to travel to for the Wildcat Nation Travel Trip. See their reactions on the Youtube video below!!!
Congratulations Clarissa Chun
Clarissa Chun won bronze in the 48 kg. division of women’s freestyle wrestling, giving the U.S. its first wrestling medal of London. Chun won her bronze medal match 1-0, 3-0 on Wednesday at ExCel Arena.
Chun won her first match of the day, but dropped her second bout to Azerbaijani Mariya Stadnyk. In repechage, Chun showed off her best move of the day. She was down one period, and came up with a brilliant pin of Poland’s Iwona Matowska. The win over Matowski qualified Chun for the bronze medal match.
She has represented the U.S. for years on the Olympics and world teams. Though she has a world championship and several Pan-American medals, this is Chun’s first Olympic medal.
